The Association of Automobile Importers (AIA), which includes accredited representatives in Lebanon for all automotive manufacturers worldwide, calls on the relevant Lebanese authorities to enforce Article 44 of Law No. 659 to ensure effective protection for Lebanese consumers. This law, promulgated on February 4, 2005, aims to protect consumers from apparent or hidden defects that may endanger their safety or health, and that may appear in products purchased on the local market.

The association urges the competent authorities to rigorously enforce this law, ensuring Lebanese consumers their right to the manufacturer’s warranty and the continuous updating of the products they purchase, thereby safeguarding their investment and reinforcing road safety, which continues to deteriorate day after day. The association also reminds Lebanese consumers of the importance of claiming their rights protected by law.

In conclusion, the association reiterates that only vehicles sold by the authorized representatives of global manufacturers in Lebanon benefit from reliable warranties, guaranteeing access to genuine spare parts, especially for electric and hybrid vehicle batteries. These vehicles are exclusively maintained by qualified engineers and specialists, subject to recall campaigns and continuous monitoring of electronic systems and their programming.
