At a time when Lebanon’s young people continue to face significant economic and professional challenges, a renewed collaboration between Resource Group and Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) is creating meaningful pathways for opportunity, innovation, and career development.
Built around USJ’s Entrepreneurship and Competencies Center (EC²), the partnership aims to bridge academic learning with real-world technological applications. Together, both institutions are working to encourage problem-solving mindsets, nurture student creativity, and equip youth with the skills needed to engage with the evolving technology sector.
Turning Ideas into Impact
The collaboration was highlighted through the annual Resource Group Competition, where multidisciplinary teams of USJ students presented technology-driven concepts aimed at improving aspects of daily life in Lebanon.
With guidance from mentors, including professionals from Resource Group, students applied design-thinking methodologies to refine their initial ideas into structured solutions. This year’s projects addressed a range of societal needs, including access to healthcare, urban mobility, sustainability, and user-focused community services.
Before a jury composed of entrepreneurs, technologists, and academics, nine teams showcased their prototypes, demonstrating the creativity and determination of a generation looking for ways to contribute constructively to their country’s future.
A Partnership with a Shared Purpose
For Resource Group, this collaboration reflects its continued support for education and youth development in Lebanon. By exposing students to real industry expectations and technical challenges, the initiative helps young talent gain a clearer understanding of the technology landscape and the skills needed to navigate it.
USJ, through EC², remains committed to experiential learning and entrepreneurship as essential components of modern education. The university emphasizes the importance of providing students with practical tools and spaces in which to explore their ideas responsibly and confidently.
Building a Future Powered by Youth
As Lebanon faces ongoing challenges, partnerships of this kind play an important role in supporting stability and opportunity. They provide students with reassurance that their ideas have value, that innovation is achievable, and that collaboration between academia and industry can create tangible benefits.
Resource Group and USJ plan to continue strengthening their partnership, expanding the competition and developing additional mentorship and training initiatives that encourage young people to engage with the technology sector. Such initiatives contribute to retaining talent and fostering local innovation capacity.
In a country where human creativity remains one of its strongest assets, supporting students and early-stage innovators offers a sustainable path forward. Through this collaboration, both institutions reaffirm their commitment to helping young people participate in shaping a future where technology serves communities and contributes to national development.
